Buying guide
Three fits, three size runs, and one measuring method that removes most of the guesswork. Read this before you order and you will almost never need an exchange.
The quickest way to get this right is not a tape measure around your chest. It is laying a shirt you already own flat and comparing it to the chart below. That removes the guess about how a brand intends a size to fit.
The flat measure method
Take a shirt that fits you the way you like, lay it flat on a table, button or zip nothing, and smooth it out. Measure straight across the chest, one inch below the armhole, from seam to seam. Double that number to get the chest measurement, then match it to the chart.
This works because it compares like with like. Measuring your body gives you a number that still has to be converted into how much ease a shirt has, and that is where people get it wrong.
If you do not have a shirt to hand, measure around the fullest part of your chest and add roughly two to three inches for a standard fit, or four to five if you want it loose.
Men fit
| Size | Chest (flat, doubled) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 34 to 36 in / 86 to 91 cm | Very slim builds |
| S | 36 to 38 in / 91 to 97 cm | Slim builds |
| M | 38 to 41 in / 97 to 104 cm | Most adults |
| L | 41 to 44 in / 104 to 112 cm | Broad or taller builds |
| XL | 44 to 47 in / 112 to 119 cm | Broad builds, layering |
| XXL | 47 to 50 in / 119 to 127 cm | Layering over a hoodie |
| XXXL | 50 to 53 in / 127 to 135 cm | Maximum room |
Straight cut through the body. If you normally wear a medium t shirt, medium is almost always right here.
Women fit
| Size | Chest (flat, doubled) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| XXS | 29 to 31 in / 74 to 79 cm | Petite |
| XS | 31 to 33 in / 79 to 84 cm | Slim builds |
| S | 33 to 35 in / 84 to 89 cm | Most adults |
| M | 35 to 37 in / 89 to 94 cm | Average builds |
| L | 37 to 40 in / 94 to 102 cm | Curvier builds |
| XL | 40 to 43 in / 102 to 109 cm | Layering |
| XXL | 43 to 46 in / 109 to 117 cm | Relaxed fit |
| XXXL | 46 to 49 in / 117 to 124 cm | Maximum room |
Tapered through the waist compared with the men cut. The shoulder and chest are the measurements that matter, so if you are between sizes on the bust, go up.
Youth fit
| Size | Approx. age | Chest (flat, doubled) |
|---|---|---|
| 3-4 | 3 to 4 years | 24 to 26 in / 61 to 66 cm |
| 7-8 | 7 to 8 years | 27 to 29 in / 69 to 74 cm |
| 9-10 | 9 to 10 years | 29 to 31 in / 74 to 79 cm |
| 11-12 | 11 to 12 years | 31 to 33 in / 79 to 84 cm |
| 13-14 | 13 to 14 years | 33 to 35 in / 84 to 89 cm |
| 15-16 | 15 to 16 years | 35 to 37 in / 89 to 94 cm |
| 17-18 | 17 to 18 years | 37 to 39 in / 94 to 99 cm |
Age is a starting point, not a rule. Children of the same age can be two sizes apart, so measure a shirt that fits them now and compare.
Three things that catch people out
Long sleeve does not mean size up. The body of a long sleeve shirt is identical to the short sleeve version in the same fit. Only the sleeve changes. Size up only if you want to wear it over something thick.
The price is the same in every size. Every listing carries one price across the whole run, so there is no penalty for ordering an XXL.
Popular sizes go first in a sale. Adult medium and large are the sizes that sell out quickest on current season shirts for the biggest clubs. If you are ordering during a sale window and know what you want, do it on the first day.

Common questions
Do soccer jerseys run true to size?
Generally yes, but the cut differs. Men and youth shirts share a straighter cut, while women shirts are tapered through the body. If you are between sizes and want a loose fit over a hoodie, go up one.
Should I size up for a long sleeve shirt?
No. Long sleeve shirts use the same body measurements as short sleeve versions of the same fit. The sleeve is longer, not the body. Size up only if you plan to layer it over something bulky.
How do youth sizes work?
Youth sizes are listed by age range, from 3-4 up to 17-18. They are a good guide but children vary a lot, so if the child is between ranges or broad for their age, measure a shirt that fits them now and compare it against the chart rather than relying on age.
What if I measure between two sizes?
Pick the larger one if you want a relaxed fit or plan to layer, and the smaller one if you want it fitted. A shirt that is slightly roomy is far more wearable than one that pulls across the chest.
Does the price change by size?
No. Every listing carries one price across its full size run, so an XXL costs the same as a small.
Can I exchange if the size is wrong?
Check the current returns policy on the store before ordering, particularly in December when delivery windows are tight. Measuring first is quicker than exchanging later.
